The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander procurement action plan 2024–25 recognises that engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses creates employment, builds sector capability and increases economic participation. It supports the department's Equity and Excellence strategy, because when parents are employed, their children are more likely to attend school, achieve and realise their potential.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander shared decision-making framework (PDF, 2.5MB) supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Queensland state schools to implement the shared decision-making framework to improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal students and Torres Strait Islander students. We recognise that better educational outcomes are achieved when Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples are equal partners in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services.
The Engaging communities: empowering futures framework aims to enhance engagement between the department and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
